Campus Party Brasília has robotics classes, assembly of virtual reality glasses and RECORD space - News



“To infinity and beyond”, the catchphrase of the animated character Buzz Lightyear, is the theme of the 6th Campus Party Brasília, which takes place until Sunday (31) at the Mané Garrincha National Stadium. In total, there are 500 speakers covering topics such as astronomy, artificial intelligence and fake news. Around 100,000 people are expected to participate in the Open Campus area, free and open to the public.




On the 30th, Saturday, at 10:30 am, one of the attractions is the workshop “First steps in robotics”, with Casemonstro and Paulo Lenz. The activity will teach in a practical way the basic concepts and main components for controlling a robot. Anyone over 12 years old can participate, and no prior knowledge of the topic is required.

On the same day, at 11:10 am, the workshop “Assemble your virtual reality glasses”, with Isabella Barbosa Ribeiro and Sarah de Mendonça Marçal. Participants will be able to build their own equipment to experience games and movies in an immersive way.

On Sunday (31), the Brazilian Cosplay League selection takes place in the individual presentation category. The competition is worth a place in the final, which will take place at the Anime Summit, in April, and is worth a trip to Japan.

RECORD Space


Anyone attending the event can also take photos and videos in the RECORD space. The “instagrammable” environment has a structure that prints photos of the station's presenters and reporters.

The event space is divided into three areas — Arena, Camping and Open Campus. The first has the main stage with prominent speakers, hackathons (computer programming marathons) and various challenges. The second is the camping site for paying people, the so-called campuseiros. The third is free and open to the public.

Some names are known to the public, such as Arena Disruption. The sixth edition of Brasília brings new features such as the Printer Chef, What's Next, Fábrica de Empreendedores stages, tournaments in the Campus Play-League of Legends arena, Robocore, robot combat, for example, in hockey matches, and the Include arena, where training is offered to young people aged 12 to 20 by partner laboratories and companies.

In space, there are technological, learning, professional development, competitions and business environments. The organization tries to promote fun for participants in spaces related to culture geek (concept used to define the universe of people interested in scientific and technological subjects, computers and the internet, who like video games and RPGs [role-playing games — em tradução livre, jogo de interpretação de papéis]reading comic books and anime (Japanese animation).



How to participate


In all editions of Campus Party Brasil, interested parties over 18 years of age can participate. Minors under 18 will be permitted to participate, as long as they are accompanied by a legal guardian.

To secure tickets, simply access the event website. Free entry will give access, during all days of the Campus Party, to circulation around the arena and the Open area and to the use of benches, participation in lectures, workshops and other free activities.



History and future


The event was created in 1997 in Spain and is considered the largest science, technology and entrepreneurship festival in the world. It has more than 70 editions carried out in 30 countries. Campus Party has already visited Spain, Brazil, Holland, Mexico, Germany, United Kingdom, Canada, Argentina, Panama, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Colombia and Ecuador.

In 2008, Brazil hosted the meeting for the first time in the city of São Paulo and attracted young students, entrepreneurs, academics, scientists and gamers. The first edition of Campus Party Brasília took place in 2017.

This year, Campus Party Brasil will take place in several regions. The next stage will be at Expo Center Norte, São Paulo, from July 9th to 14th. Recife will host Campus Party Nordeste from September 4th to 8th. Campus Party Amazônia 2 is scheduled to take place in Manaus between October 9th and 13th.
