How about spending the day at a farm restaurant eating really good food and having fun with the family? So, save the list of establishments in this article, set aside a day of the week (preferably Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, which is when most of these restaurants open) and be happy (with a full belly)!

Farm restaurant near São Paulo

A farm restaurant has its own characteristics that define it. To begin with, it is in a large, open area, with lots of nature around – and preferably in a rural area, with animals and lots of greenery. The food is usually homemade, often cooked on a wood stove. If you know what I'm talking about, I bet your mouth is already watering and your appetite has opened up.

After the Coronavirus pandemic, farm restaurants became increasingly sought after – after all, people wanted an open place to go out, after a period of isolation. The demand continues to this day, and there is no shortage of good farm restaurants in the State of São Paulo.

In our list below, we made a selection of farm restaurants near São Paulo that are ideal for a day trip from the capital. They are spacious places, with good cuisine and plenty of fun for the whole family. Check out!

Rancho do Comanche – São Bernardo

When we think of a farm restaurant, it is normal to imagine that it is in the interior of the State, but Rancho do Comanche is on the other side, in ABC Paulista, more precisely in São Bernardo – less than 40 km from the capital.

With live music, Rancho do Comanche is open on holidays and weekends, with typical Minas Gerais food prepared on a wood-burning stove and with a buffet served in a self-service system, with an all-you-can-eat buffet (R$ 96 per adult person without drinks ; children aged 6 to 11 pay half). For those who want extra activities, such as horse and buggy rides, sport fishing and zip lining, you need to pay separately. More information here.

Mountains of Japi Farm – Jundiaí

I'm suspicious to talk about, because, as a good Jundiaí native, I know that my city has many good farm restaurants – and that's why I warn you that I'm going to bring a series of establishments here in Jundiaí.

Fazenda Montanhas do Japi is one of the best known in the city and receives many tourists from São Paulo, mainly because it is at one of the entrances to Jundiaí, less than 60 km from the capital. Lunches are served on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays, and it is best to make a reservation in advance (look here).

The cost of lunch is R$120 per adult (children aged 5 to 11 pay half), and the buffet features natural products harvested on the farm itself, whose property dates back to the 18th century. There is also a breakfast at the property, but it is only served on special dates and costs R$70.

In addition to the restaurant, Fazenda Montanhas do Japi also has accommodation, with just five suites. Amidst the nature of Serra do Japi, it's really worth spending the afternoon eating and having fun!

Beraldo di Cali – Jundiaí

Adega Beraldo di Cali is known for its wines and drinks, but the restaurant is also worth visiting. Located in Caxambu, a traditional neighborhood in Jundiaí with many restaurants of the same style, this rural property is almost always crowded on the weekend, and it is recommended to arrive early to try different dishes.

The restaurant stands out for its pasta and meat porpetas, but my tip is to try the portions (the classic fried polenta is a must-have on the table), and you won't regret it. See timetables and more information here.

Nossa Senhora da Conceição Farm – Jundiaí

Still in Jundiaí, and 70 km from São Paulo, we arrived at Fazenda Nossa Senhora da Conceição, an old coffee farm that still produces its beans and also serves food a la carte on weekends and holidays – in addition to lunch, it is Breakfast is also served.

Meal portions are generally quite generous. The main house is an attraction in itself, but there are also horse rides that children love (charges apply) and other activities.

Sassafraz Site – Itupeva

In Itupeva, close to Jundiaí, we have a breakfast specialist: Sítio Sassafraz. There are more than 80 options of sweet and savory dishes, and the idea here is to arrive early and only leave after trying everything – or almost everything, at least. The only bad thing is that they work in shifts, that is, you need to schedule a period of just 1h30 on Saturday, Sunday and holiday mornings (from 8am to 1pm), but even outside of these hours you can stay in the space to enjoy all the attractions (you just won't be able to eat again). The cost is R$75 per adult; Children aged 6 to 11 pay R$35 and children aged 3 to 5 pay R$15.

Sítio Sassafraz is part of the region's rural tourism, opening its doors every day to anyone who wants to visit the place, ride horses, feed the animals and enjoy other attractions. know more here.

Paraíso Atibaia Farm – Atibaia

Fazenda Paraíso is one of the main farm restaurants in Atibaia, showing that rural tourism is one of the city's greatest highlights. The restaurant is located about 60 km from São Paulo and is open on weekends and holidays, and the ideal is to guarantee your reservation in advance (more information here).

I tried the breakfast at Fazenda Paraíso and I can say that it is worth it (R$ 65 per person), but it is at lunch that the place really fills up (the cost is R$ 125 per adult without drinks). Children aged 5 to 11 pay half.

In a pleasant and green environment, the best thing to do is take your time and enjoy the place. There is a still with cachaça tasting for adults and many activities for children – but almost everything is paid separately, such as pedal boating on the lake, horse riding, kayaking, sport fishing, trampoline and the possibility of feeding the animals from the farm.

Costelão Fogo de Chão – Atibaia

Costelão Fogo de Chão Atibaia is not exactly on a farm, but in a large space in the middle of nature right in front of the Usina Dam – that's why we included it here on the list, in addition to the fact that it is a very popular restaurant among those who live in São Paulo and want a different place to have lunch and spend the day.

It is located about 80 km from the capital and also only operates on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. In addition to the ribs, the big star of the house, there is a huge variety of food options, and the “pay and eat as you please” scheme, in self-service, is a success for R$ 79.90 (adults and without drinks or desserts ).

When I visited Costelão Fogo de Chão Atibaia, I saw many families having fun throughout the Saturday afternoon, be it on the pedal boat, boat and playground for the children (all of which have a separate fee) and, of course, eating non-stop! More information here.

Pedu's EcoPark – Louveira

Pedu's EcoPark is a relatively new restaurant, with less than three years of operation in the city of Louveira, around 75 km from São Paulo. In the middle of nature, these are restaurants to go to with the family that are sure to please everyone, whether for the good food, the farm atmosphere or the various activities aimed at little ones, such as horse riding and the playground.

The menu features different foods, such as polenta, ribs, crackling rolls and tilapia. Not bad, right?

Vila Don Patto – São Roque

On the São Roque wine route, how about a stop at Vila Don Patto? Not just a stop, in fact a stop lasting several hours, as the place calls itself “a center of gastronomy and entertainment for the whole family”.

In an area of around 40 thousand square meters, you can really spend the whole day in Vila Don Patto, eating (there are different restaurants), drinking and having fun – there is even a balloon ride for those willing to spend. The complex is 75 km from São Paulo and does not have the most rustic style like traditional farm restaurants, but is a more chic space (and the prices for the dishes in the restaurants are more expensive). Find out more about him here.

Estalagem Terra Nova Restaurant – Nazaré Paulista

Estalagem Terra Nova Restaurant is a country restaurant like that that no one wants to leave once they arrive. Open on weekends and holidays, it operates on a closed price system, that is, you pay a single price to eat as much as you want in the self-service service.

There are seven food stations, with meats, snacks and vegetables, for example. The place also has a waterfall, horse riding, fishing lake, playground, recreation with monitors for children and live music. More information here. The Estalagem Terra Nova Restaurant is located in Nazaré Paulista, about 90 km from São Paulo.

Chocolate Farm – Itu

In Itu, about 100 km from the capital, Fazenda do Chocolate is open every day, but its restaurant is only open on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. The food served on the wood stove is just one of the highlights of the place, as many visitors also go to the Farm to enjoy all the other attractions, such as the train ride, the orchid nursery, having contact with nature and, of course, getting to know the chocolate shop! know more here.

The restaurant is open from 12pm to 3pm on a self-service basis, but the property is open daily from 8:45am to 5:30pm.

Capoava Farm – Itu

Our last tip comes straight from a farm hotel in Itu. The restaurant Hotel Fazenda Capoava It is also open to the general public, but subject to reservation and availability of seats.

The well-served buffet is highly praised by guests, so it can be a good option for those who have a trip planned to Itu and want to have lunch at a farm hotel. More information here.

If you prefer, you can also stay at the hotel. See prices here.
