Hotel em Osaka Aloft Osaka Dojima review

Don’t know how to choose one hotel in Osaka, Japan? The third largest city in the country has many cool options to visit, especially in the gastronomic sector! There are many things to see and I have a perfect recommendation for accommodation in Osaka: the Aloft Osaka Dojima, a Marriott hotel.

At this hotel in Osaka, you will find comfortable and spacious rooms, great service and many positive points. See the full review now!

Hotel in Osaka: Aloft Osaka Dojima

We stayed at this hotel in Osaka for 4 nights and took the opportunity to get to know the city itself, visit Universal Park and take a day trip to Nara.

Location

O Aloft Osaka Dojima It is located close to Osaka city central station and also to the Nishi Umeda subway where the Yotsubashi (blue) line passes.

You can choose whether you want to arrive by taxi, on foot along the street or via the underground path! There are many of these in the city that facilitate the flow of people to the subway and stations (since you don’t have to wait for the traffic lights to cross streets), escape the heat and cold and there are also many shops and restaurants! For those who wish to walk, it is a short 10-minute walk.

This hotel in Osaka is situated opposite one of the busiest streets with a lot of traffic only during the day and there are many restaurants around.

Hotel structure

The hotel reception is next to the lobby, an area with games, sofas and decoration made with illustrated skateboards! I found it to be in the Osaka atmosphere, more relaxed and different than Tokyo, for example. On the other side there is a table with more games, both for children and adults, and it is next to the bar, where there is a pool table.

Inside the hotel there is also a small area with coin-operated washing machines that need to be reserved in advance. Next door is the Re:Charge gym, where you can train with dumbbells, treadmills, bicycles, benches… These two facilities can be used by all guests.

The hotel has elevators and very spacious doors, contributing to accessibility.

Check-in opens at 3pm and check-out is at 12pm.

Aloft Osaka Dojima service

The hotel service is simply sensational! I found the staff to be very attentive and patient, everyone explained about the city, using the washing machines, breakfast and other information about the city’s attractions. They also asked how our day was, plans to visit the city and talked a lot in English.

We were also surprised with a special birthday gift for Jean! We received some delicious fruits and “Congratulations Jean” written in chocolate! Fruits in Japan are very expensive and some are luxury items, simply because they are very tasty and juicy. We were very happy!

Queen Room

The rooms at the Aloft Osaka Dojima hotel are gigantic and very spacious! There was space for two open suitcases, as well as a corner sofa and a small table to work on. Coffee, tea and a kettle to heat were available, as well as a minibar and a humidifier.

We stayed in a room with a queen bed, which was very large and comfortable. I slept really well and there was no risk of having my blanket stolen by my husband lol

Another interesting thing is that the room was lit with different lights that you could turn on as you pleased to create a more cozy atmosphere. The TV was quite large and tuned to several Japanese channels.

As we went during the summer, the days are shorter and the sunrises are super early. But that wasn’t a problem because no light came in due to the blackout on the window that covered any type of crack.

Next to the bedside table, I found USB sockets to charge my cell phone, in addition to the normal Japanese electrical sockets with 2 vertical stripes. Remember that the voltage in Japan is 110v.

Bathroom and shower

The bathroom area is separated from the bedroom with a partition, where the sink is located with a very spacious countertop, a clothesline to hang shirts on hangers or towels and a small closet where pajamas, hairdryer, slippers and even a vaporizer.

There were also many personal hygiene items such as soap, toothbrush and toothpaste, razor, comb, cotton swabs, moisturizer, shampoo, conditioner and liquid body soap. In addition to the bath towel, we received a face towel and a hand towel.

One of the most surprising parts of this hotel in Osaka was the toilet that, AMAZINGLY, OPENS BY ITSELF! Yes, the toilet lid lifted every time we opened the bathroom door and it was also illuminated with a blue light! Super technological!

After using a Japanese vase, you won’t want to go back to the old way (that story about how the Phoenicians did it lol). This vase also opened the entire lid or closed automatically with a button. Other options in the control were:

  • 2 types of water jets,
  • pressure and jet position control,
  • light or heavy discharge,
  • music for privacy

In the shower area there was soooo much space and the option of a shower or a normal shower. The pressure, temperature and amount of water were perfect. I relaxed a lot after taking a shower!

Breakfast

Nothing better than starting the day with a hearty breakfast! Breakfast at Aloft Osaka Dojima is one of the highlights of the stay and is served in The Warehouse restaurant area. It is located next to the reception and you will find a cozy space filled with tables with chairs and sofas.

Food is separated into hot, cold and dry areas. Here you will find very fresh and freshly prepared western and eastern options such as:

  • bacon
  • baked fish
  • boiled or fried egg and omelet
  • sausage
  • chicken in stick
  • takoyaki (fried octopus dumpling)
  • rice
  • miso soup
  • many types of bread (there was a special one from Hokkaido!)
  • butter and stuffed croissant
  • donuts
  • salads
  • fruits
  • cereals, granola
  • juices and coffees

I also saw a salad buffet with many types of vegetables (Japanese people love to eat salad in the morning!) as well as lots of fruits and other typical foods and side dishes that I don’t know the name of.

To drink there was tea, juices, coffee and I saw an area with cereals, granola, dried fruits, donuts… Everything was very fresh and well thought out! Coffee is served from 7 to 10:30.

Restaurant at Lunch

In the same breakfast space they offer lunch and dinner and we tried both!

At lunch you can choose à la carte or a main course combo with access to salads, juices and breads. I ordered a pasta dish with tuna and Jean a panini (Italian sandwich). It was delicious! It is served from 11:30 am to 2 pm.

Dinner at the hotel

Dinner is not served every day, it is open from Wednesday to Sunday from 5:30 pm to 9 pm. At dinner we opted for the combo of starter, main course and dessert. We ordered the salad with salmon and pesto sauce as a starter, very delicious!

For the main course I opted for pasta with lobster and bisque sauce while Jean ordered a steak with roast potatoes and red wine sauce. Both were very tasty and the portion was very well served. For dessert we ordered tiramisu! I was surprised by so much flavor!

Bar area

Located opposite the restaurant, the W XYZ Bar is a unique space, lit by colorful LED lights, where you can sit on sofas, tables or directly at the counter. Here you can choose various drinks from local beers, Japanese whiskey, wines and drinks.

We tried the Japanese whiskey and really liked it. We know a lot about Scotch whiskey and Japanese whiskey is gaining a lot of market share due to its quality flavor.

The bar atmosphere is very cozy

This hotel in Osaka hosts some events during the week, such as Taco Tuesday. On Tuesday you can try tacos with several different fillings accompanied by a drink like tequela sunrise or margarita.

The bar is open from 5pm to 10:30pm and on Fridays and Saturdays until 11:30pm.

Final evaluation

I believe this was the best accommodation of our trip to Japan! We stayed for 14 days and I guarantee that this hotel in Osaka was the best of all and we had incredible experiences!

We liked the structure, the comfort of the room, the food and the service was exceptional. We felt welcome and at home (you can see it clearly in the video, right!). We will definitely be back and I recommend it to everyone! Do it Book at Aloft Osaka Dojima here
